Shopping Weekend

2003-06-16 - 2:23 p.m.

I had the loveliest weekend Ive had in quite a while. Weather had a lot to do with it of course.

Friday it was raining, as usual. I didnt care this time, because I spent all afternoon at the spa. I feel like I have a new face. It was just wonderful to be pampered again. I spent way too much money, but it was all so worth it. I also replenished my beauty regime supplies, which were in sad condition after months of being low on funds. Since I was newly treated, there was no going out for me that night. BW and I had a quiet dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Besides, I was horribly exhausted from the week and from the fact that the baby girl that lives downstairs is teething, and sharing her pain with everyone in the building. Awww, pobrecita.

Saturday. Since I really needed sleep, I spent the night on the couch, out of reach of babys lungs. I woke up to SUNSHINE on my feet and was so excited I didnt know what to do with myself. Had a makeover appointment with one of the Delux makeup artists at the SoHo Sephora. Mia was my makeup artist and she was very pleasant. She also highly complimented me on my skin (proof I spent money wisely). The highest compliment was when she said I needed no concealer, foundation or powder. She put a lightly tinted moisturizer on my face and voila! I was very happy with the results of my makeover and decided to purchase some items. This is where it began. Mia directed me to an assistant who would retrieve the items for me, but the assistant disappeared. I decided to get the items myself, and couldnt. I finally asked another assistant, if she could get the items for me, since I was not allowed to retrieve them myself. She apologized, but I was already peeved. The final straw was when BW and I were leaving the store and BW was giddy over receiving a free bag. I decided I didnt want the items anymore. So today, I will return EVERYTHING. What was I thinking giving bad service the benefit of the doubt?

To consol myself, I went shopping. I went to Mystique Boutique, which is one of my favorite stores in all of NYC. I had been thinking that I needed to start working on Chou-Chou and Jessica Rabbits wardrobe for our upcoming trips. Most pressing was Chou-Chou as it is next month. I am so good at shopping. I am their perfect stylist. I spent $38 on Chou-Chou, including taxes. What could you have possibly gotten for that? you might ask. Well.I got a sexy fitting strapless dress with tropical print, a pair of low-riding jeans, and two tops for clubbing. I am so good! If anyone needs a stylist out there, I am for hire. Im not cheap but you can get the money to pay me in what youll save on your clothes. lol.

Sunday was more shopping. This time for yoga wear. Darn. I thought that yoga started this week, I was so pumped. Belle inspired me to get my ass of the couch and start working out again. Well, Ill just have to stay inspired a while longer. It starts next week. Oh, well, at least Im ready. OH! And while I was shopping for yoga wear, I stopped in at Bang Bang, down on 8th Street, and saw a top I had to have. Last year, I was at the NFL kickoff party in Times Square. Rebbok hosted a fashion show and did all kinds of cool things with the jerseys. You might have seen what Eve and Alicia Keys were wearing? Anyway, I saw a perfect baby blue top on a mannequin. Can you believe some silly sales girl was telling me I couldnt have it? Poor thing. Tsk-tsk. Did I get the shirt? Of course! I cant wait to wear it. I might wear it when I go to Dallas, just so I can arrive looking absolutely fabulous!

OH, and I forgot to mention the best part about this weekend: I finally got to tan! Yay! I had to keep my face protected, though, since I just had the facial done. lol, it was a little amusing: me with a white wide floppy hat, and a teeny tiny black thong on the rooftop. I was only out there for about an hour or so since I cant remember the last time I was this pale.

Damn, I have to get to work now.
